All the animals were very upset with him. On a hot summer day, all the animals thought of a plan to make the dog taste good. All the animals called a meeting and the dog was also invited to that meeting. All the animals were saying that a new dog has come near the pond and he has a lot of food. Whoever will beat that dog. He will get all the food.

Hearing these words of the animals, the dog became very happy because he felt that fooling that dog and driving away was the game of his right hand. The dog immediately started going near the pond where he saw a bone on the way. He picked up the bone and ran to the pond.

When he looked into the pond, he saw a dog with a bone in it. The dog wanted to snatch the bone from the dog in the pond. So he jumped into the pond to kill the dog without hesitation. As soon as he jumped into the pond, he realized that there was no dog but his reflection. By that time it was too late. The dog started drowning and then he drowned in the pond.

2. Story of Thirsty Crow

It was a scorching summer day. Everyone was getting scorched by the sun and heat. On this hot summer day, a crow was also wandering here and there due to the heat. He was very thirsty. But there was no sign of water to be seen anywhere.

Sometimes that crow wandered here and there in search of a well, and sometimes he started looking for a pot. But even after searching a lot, he could not find water. He was completely exhausted after searching for water for so long and sat down on a tree.

The crow was very tired. When he was sadly sitting on the tree, suddenly he saw a pitcher in front of the house. The crow flew away and went to that car. He saw a little water in that pitcher but it was very low.

His beak was not reaching there. So he thought of an idea to bring the water up. He started pouring stones into the pitcher one by one. Due to the stone being thrown, the water of the pitcher came up and then the crow quenched his thirst by drinking water.

Those who try never give up.

Once upon a time! In a small village lived an ant and a grasshopper. Both were very good friends and used to have a lot of fun together. But the ant was very hardworking. That grasshopper was a little lazy. He didn’t like to work. He used to wander here and there laughing and smiling all day.

Seeing this, summer came. Seeing the summer, both the ant and the grasshopper became very happy. The ants left their fun and everything and joined the food juggling. The same grasshopper was still having fun. And he would tell the ants that why do you people work so hard, have fun like me. Look how happy I am!

Hearing these words of Tinde, the ant used to say that we are juggling food for the winter so that we do not have to work hard in winter. But the grasshopper used to laugh and make fun of the ants.

In the same way the summer has ended and the winter days have started. As soon as winter came, the ants were enjoying their food in their burrow. There was a forest where many animals lived together. There was a very big and fruitful grape tree in that forest. The grapes of that tree were very sweet and juicy. It was as if it was not a grape but a nectar.

All the animals used to be very happy after eating that grape. Hearing the praise of the grape tree, a fox also went to that tree to eat the grapes. He tried very hard to eat the grapes, he jumped a lot. But the grape tree was at a great height.

Due to which the fox could not reach the grapes and not a single grape could hit his hand. Even after trying a lot, when the fox did not get the grapes, he started saying that I do not want to eat this grape! These are sour.

When people do not get anything, then they start doing evil to them.

6. Story of Mashi

‘Mashi’ is a common word in Bengali used to address an aunt. Although Mashi is the central character, the story touches on marital relationships and loneliness.

Jotin is married to a young girl named Mani. Mani and Jotin never really had their way as husband and wife. Mani is a child at heart, free from her husband’s serious illness. She can only think of going home for her younger sister’s Annaprashan ceremony.

Mashi is a widow who lost her husband at a young age. With that bitterness inside her, she cannot understand Mani’s desire to be happy. This story is understood from Mashi’s perspective. His affection for Jotin is absolutely at its peak.

In an attempt to calm Jotin’s heart, she tells little lies about Mani’s love. The dedication and love of a wife is measured in terms of sleepless nights weaving shawls, cooking and sobbing.

The story depicts the sad condition of Mani, a young girl burdened by marriage, her inability to reconcile Jotin’s love to an elder Mashi. Mashi has learned to glorify the tragedies of a woman’s life and devoting her love to a man in every form she can think of.
